Jacksonville, N.C. — Campus Safety Products (CSP), creator of the RhinoWare® Lockdown System, attended the 2022 Florida PTA Leadership Convention in Championsgate, Fla. from July 21-24.
Events like the Florida PTA Leadership Convention give parents, teachers, and community leaders the opportunity to brainstorm better ways to protect students. CSP leaders share their expertise and look for new insights at several such conferences each year.
Conference Highlights Growing Interest in School Safety
In the 2020-21 school year, there were 93 shootings, 43 of which included casualties, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. These figures – along with recent tragedies such as the one in Uvalde, Texas – have motivated educational systems, parents, and communities to push for better security solutions.
CSP can play a key role in protecting students, teachers, and staff members in schools. The RhinoWare® Lockdown System – which is easy enough that a small child can activate it – protects classrooms against the force of active assailants.
Conversations about school safety are difficult to have, but important for protecting children. The school safety movement is growing and it’s growing fast. For the first time in 34 years, this conference was held at a new location with additional seating capacity.
The event included presentations from keynote speakers, workshops, breakout training sessions, and networking events to connect parents and teachers and prompt change in school systems across the country. Convention committee members were also available to answer questions about best practices and related legislation.

We can never compromise on the safety of our children.”
The conference workshops, ticketed events, exhibitors, and general meetings were held in the Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate, Fla.
